Mountain Safari
Explore the Dhofar Mountains on a safari:
You pass through typical Jabali villages on the way through the mountain range of Jebel Samhan. Along scenic landscapes you reach a stunning plateau at a hight of almost 1300m.
This location is also known as the "Grand Canyon" of the Dhofar Mountains. In good weather conditions you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the east coast on one side and the great "Qara" mountain range to the other side from here. Make a stop at one of the world's largest Sink Holes (211m deep and 150m in diameter), also known as Tawi Attair, which can be translated with "Well of Birds". Often you can see the birds in this place throughout the year. Again and again you hold in between unique landscapes and vantage points for photo stops.
Another highlight is the "evergreen Wadi Darbat", where you can take a relaxing stroll along the wadi bed, which is surrounded by camel, goat and cattle herds.
Close to the picturesque village Taqah you drive on top of the famous Taqah plateau to get a panoramic view of the cliff down to the coast. With some luck you can see a dolphin herd, rays and turtles from up here.
